How Do I Set Up Live Streaming for the Event Stage?

Use this option if you plan to live stream to your event. The live stream will play at the top of Live Event Page and can be entirely pre-recorded, entirely live, or a mix of both. You will be responsible for starting your stream through the streaming service of your choice. Although this method can be more work, there are some advantages:

Your event will immediately feel "live" as soon as people arrive.
Live content can be more engaging for your audience.
You are able to communicate and interact with your audience in real time.
Additionally, most streaming services allow you to stream to multiple platforms at once (so, you could stream to Facebook and YouTube at the same time as Boothy).

Follow these steps to set up your Live-Streaming Event Stage:

On your Boothy Dashboard, click on Events at the top right of the page, next to Collections.

Click on the Manage button on the event you want to set up the livestream for.

Next, click on the Edit button or Edit Event button.

Click on the Edit button next to the Event Stage section.

After clicking on Edit, you should see the Event Stage Options. Turn on the Enable Event Stage option.
Event Stage Options

Scroll down to the Enable Live Stream Video option at the very bottom. Enable this option and click on Apply.
Enable

After clicking Apply, two fields, RTMP URL, and Stream Key should appear.
RTMP URL and Stream Key

The Stream Key and RTMP URL are used by live stream tools like Streamyard, OBS, and Zoom to broadcast to your event. If you have questions about live streaming, reach out to us on Boothy support.

Enter the RTMP URL and Stream Key in the respective fields. Click Apply to save the changes.

If you are ready for these changes to take effect immediately, click on the down arrow located at the top right of the page, next to the Preview/Enter buttons. Select Save & Publish. A confirmation dialog will appear. Confirm your action by selecting Publish Now.
